Central Holmes was able to squeeze in three games last week and came away with two wins.
The Trojans opened the week with a 12-1 over Sharkey Issaquena and then beat Clarksdale Lee 9-6. The Trojans finished the week as they suffered their first loss with a 6-1 setback to Pillow.
Central Holmes is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday as they host Carroll to open district play. The Trojans travel to Carroll on Thursday and will play at Winston on Friday.
Central Holmes 12, Sharkey Issaquena 1
The Trojans needed just 4 1/2 innings to take a run-rule win over the Confederates on Monday.
Central Holmes scored three in the first, five in the second and two in the third and fourth innings. Sharkey scored its one run in the third.
Central Holmes had just six hits but took advantage of 11 walks and three errors. Wes Hudson had a double, walked twice, scored twice and had three RBIs. Eli Steen and Austin Hanson each doubled and drove in two runs. Nate Taylor walked twice and scored three runs while Landon Rawson was hit by a pitch twice, stole two bases and scored three runs. Alex Arnold singled and drove in two runs.
Luke Smith pitched two scoreless innings, striking out five and walking just three. Hanson pitched the next two innings and gave up one run on one hit and two walks while striking out two. Josh Harner pitched an inning and walked one and struck out one.
Central Holmes 9, Clarksdale Lee 6
The Trojans scored six runs in the second inning and held on to take a three-run win on Tuesday.
With the game tied at 1-1, Central Holmes scored six in the second and addd two in the fourth. Clarksdale Lee scored three in the third and one in the second, fourth and sixth innings.
Central Holmes had just six hits but walked six times. Noah Steen was 2-for-3 with a run scored and one RBI to lead the Trojans. Wes Hudson had a double and drove in two runs while Peyton Killebrew had two runs scored and two RBIs. Nate Taylor tripled and scored a run. Josh Hamer walked three times and scored twice while Landon Rawson scored twice. Austin Hanson also had an RBI single.
Rawson pitched the first two innings and gave up four runs, only one earned on one hit and six walks while striking out three. Alex Arnold pitched 2/3 of an inning and walked three. Hudson pitched the next 2 2/3 inning and gave up one run on two hits while Hamer pitched the final 1 2/3 innings and gave up one run on three hits while striking out three.
Pillow 6, Central Holmes 1
The Trojans struggled throwing strikes, walking 10 as they suffered their first loss of the season to the Mustangs on Thursday.
Central Holmes scored one in the first as Pillow scored one in the third and fourth before adding two in the fifth and sixth.
The Trojans had just four hits and struck out 11 times. Landon Rawson was 2-for-3 with an RBI, driving on Nate Taylor, who walked twice. Austin Hanson and Barrett Fondren each had singles.
Wes Hudson got the start and took the loss, pitching 4 2/3 innings as he gave up four runs on four hits and six walks while striking out three. Rawson pitched 1/3 of an inning, giving up two runs on three walks. Josh Hamer pitched one scoreless inning and struck out two.
