The Central Holmes Lady Trojans didn’t have any troubles knocking off the rust from the Christmas break.
The Lady Trojans travel to West Point on Friday and took a 64-23 win over Oak Hill. The Trojans weren’t as fortunate as they dropped a 53-31 decision to the Raiders.
Central Holmes will return to action this week as they host Manchester in a non-district game on Thursday. On Friday, Central Holmes will return to district play as they go to Indianola Academy. Central Holmes will return to play on on Tuesday, Jan. 14 by hosting Carroll Academy.
The Lady Trojans came out firing after the Christmas break with a 41-point win over the lady Raiders on Friday.
Central Holmes started quickly as it outscored Oak Hill 16-0 in the first and led 33-6 at the half. Central Holmes continued to extend their lead in the second half as they outscored Oak Hill 17-13 in the third and 14-4 in the fourth to take the win.
Makaylee Polk led Central Holmes with 24 points while Breann Bell added 22 points.
In the boys game the Raiders jumped out to a big lead in the first period and cruised to a 22-point win over the Trojans on Friday.
Oak Hill led 19-4 at the end of the first period and outscored Central Holmes 17-12 in the second to lead 36-16 at the half. Oak Hill took the third period 10-5 while Central Holmes took the fourth 9-7 for the final margin.
Lawrence Wiley led Central Holmes with 17 points.
