The Central Holmes Lady Trojans were right where they wanted to be on Saturday, sitting in the championship game of the North AAA Tournament on their home court.
But North Delta did not let that bother them as they scored early and often and took an 83-50 win over the homestanding Lady Trojans to claim the Class AAA North State tournament title.
Central Holmes advanced to the championship game by opening with a 73-38 win over Marshall Academy and then beat rival Winona Christian 48-29 in the semifinals on Friday.
Central Holmes is the No. 2 seed out of the North and will face South No. 3 seed Columbia Academy in an opening round game of the AAA State Tournament on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

The Lady Trojans built a big early lead and cruised to a 35-point win over the Lady Patriots on Thursday.
Central Holmes jumped out to a 27-10 lead at the end of the first and outscored Marshall 19-8 in the second to lead 46-18 at the half. Marshall took the third period 16-15 while Central Holmes finished off the Lady Patriots in the fourth 12-4.
Central Holmes put four players in double figures as Breann Bell led the Lady Trojans with 19 points. Christyn Allen had 16 points while Makaylee Polk had 15 points and Cameron Martin added 14 points.

The Lady Trojans built a big first-half lead and pulled away to take a 19-point win in Friday’s semifinal game.
Central Holmes led 14-8 at the end of the first and outscored Winona 19-8 in the second to lead 33-16 at the half. Each team scored nine in the third and Central Holmes took the fourth 6-4 to take the win.
Bella Roberts led Winona Christian with 15 points while Sara Burden White had six points.
Breann Bell led Central Holmes with 17 points while Makaylee Polk added 11 points.

The Lady Trojans ran into an experienced Lady Wave team as they dropped a 33-point decision in Saturday’s championship game.
North Delta led 20-12 at the end of the first and 42-33 at the half. North Delta then pulled away in the third period, outscoring Central Holmes 30-11 in the third to take a 72-44 lead into the fourth.
Makaylee Polk led Central Holmes with 19 points while Breann Bell had 11 points.
