Three local players will be playing in the MAIS All-star baseball game.
Central Holmes seniors Landon Rawson and Wes Hudson will represent the Trojans while Blake Marlow will represent Winona Christian.
Rawson and Hudson led the Trojans to a 15-7 record this past season and the district championship. Rawson signed with Southeastern Louisiana in December. Rawson went 5-2 on the mound for the Trojans and hit .380 at the plate after hitting .409 as a junior. Hudson was also 5-2 on the mound and hit .353 at the plate. Hudson is unsigned but has an offer from Holmes Community College.
“These two guys have had outstanding careers,” Central Holmes coach Tony Banks said. “It’s an honor to get selected to this all-star game. This will be the best players in the MAIS. I’m proud for them to get to represent our school one more time.”
Marlow hit .323 for the Stars last year with 26 RBIs and 19 runs scored. He was also second on the team with four home runs. On the mound, Marlow pitched 39.1 innings and had a 4-3 record with a 2.67 ERA.
Marlow also played the MAIS All-star football game as well.
“He has had a great career for us,” Winona coach Shannon Self said. “There are a lot of really good players in this game and it’s a big honor to be selected. I’m really proud for him.”
Marlow signed to play baseball at Copiah Lincoln Community College.
