The Central Holmes Trojans suffered their first loss of the season last week, falling 5-4 to rival Winona Christian on Friday.
The Trojans had already beaten the Stars 10-6 on Thursday.
The Trojans are now 8-1 on the season and 5-1 in district play. The Trojans will return to play this week as they host J.Z. George on Monday. The Trojans will host Marshall Academy on Tuesday and travel to Marshall on Friday as they complete district play.
Central Holmes 10, Winona Christian 6
The Trojans scored eight runs in the second inning and took a four-run win over the Stars on Thursday.
Winona scored three in the first and one in the second and led 4-0 before Central Holmes scored eight in the bottom of the second to lead 8-4. Winona added single runs in the third and seventh while Central Holmes added two runs in the fifth.
Winona outhit Central Holmes 8-6 in the contest but the Trojans took advantage of three errors and eight walks to take the win.
Landon Rawson was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs to lead the Trojans at the plate while Alex Arnold walked twice and had a home run, scored twice and had two RBIs. Josh Haymer singled and scored twice while Barrett Fondren doubled and drove in a run. Peyton Killebrew, Nathan Taylor and Noah Steen each scored a run and had an RBI.
Rawson got the start on the mound and gave up six runs on six hits and five walks to take the win. Wes Hudson pitched the final inning and gave up two hits.
Winona Christian 5, Central Holmes 4
The Stars took an early lead and held on to take a one-run win over the Trojans on Friday.
Winona Christian scored four in the second and one in the third while Central Holmes scored one in the fourth and three in the fifth.
The Trojans had six hits but committed three errors. Wes Hudson was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored while Peyton Killebrew was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Alex Arnold singled and drove in a run while Landon Rawson singled and scored a run.
Hudson pitched all seven innings for the Trojans and gave up five runs, only one earned, on six hits and one walk while striking out seven.
