Busy spring break for Tigers with 4 games

The Ethel Tigers had a busy spring break as they got in four games on the baseball diamond.
Ethel won one of four games and beat Westmoreland 3-0 on Monday.
The Tigers then lost 5-3 to Madison Academy and then lost 10-0 to Robertsdale. The Tigers then lost 7-2 to Jackson Southside to finish out the week.

Ten years ago – 2013 – David Ortiz had one of the all time great World Series, leading the Red Sox to victory over the Cardinals in six games. He was 11 for 16 with two doubles, two homers, eight walks, six RBIs and seven runs scored.

Stars pick up first win of the season last week

The Winona Christian baseball team got its first win of the season last week.
The Stars beat North Sunflower 11-1 on Monday and then lost 12-2 to Kirk in the second game of a doubleheader.

1st meet for boys, girls teams set for Thursday

The first track meet for Kosciusko boys and girls will be the Falcon Relays Thursday at Columbus High School. There will be at least 19 schools entered.
Girls coach Eleazarus Greenleaf is counting on two veterans, senior Presley Fulgham, and junior Raven Pernell, to lead the team.
