Kosciusko Golf: Whippets have best match of the year

Kosciusko had its best match of the year with a 332 team score to finish second among five teams at Philadelphia Country Club.
West Lauderdale, the defending 4A state champion, finished first with 300. Other team scores were Neshoba Central 354, Nanih Waiya 393 and Newton County 452.

Whippets advance to second round of 4A playoffs

Kosciusko advanced to the second round of the 4A tennis playoffs with a 4-3 victory over South Pontotoc Monday. The Whippets will play at Itawamba AHS in Fulton Thursday.

Stars tennis team wins 3

The Winona Christian tennis team picked up three wins last week to stay unbeaten on the season.
The Stars beat opened district play with a 6-3 win over Greenville St. Joseph last Thursday. Earlier in the week, Winona Christian beat Winston Academy 9-0 and Canton Academy 6-3.

Panthers sweep a pair of games from Noxapater

The French Camp Panthers added two more wins to their total as they swept a pair of games from Noxapater this week.
The Panthers took a 6-5 walk-off win on Tuesday and then won a 17-11 slugfest on Thursday.
