Stars gain second straight win, to host Benton

The Winona Christian Stars won their second straight game last week.

The Stars overcame an early 14-0 deficit and pulled away late to take a 40-28 win over Oak Hill on Friday night.

Winona Christian improves to 2-1 on the season and will host Benton Academy this week.

Tigers prepare for Enterprise-Lincoln

It wasn’t the start to the 2022 season that Ethel coach Adam Smith was hoping for.

The Tigers struggled and dropped a 35-0 decision to Clarkdale on Friday night in the season opener.

Ethel falls to 0-1 on the season and will travel to Enterprise-Lincoln this week.

Winona Christian football coach Ken Chandler said before the season that Jake Ware would be a big part of the Stars offense this season.

That was certainly the case on Friday night as Ware had 297 yards of total offense and propelled the Stars to a 35-28 win over French Camp.
