The French Camp Panthers won three out of four games last week on the baseball diamond.
The Panthers opened the week with a 10-3 win over Starkville Christian on Monday and then swept McAdams 25-0 and 15-0 on Tuesday. The Panthers finished the week with a 13-1 loss to St. Andrew’s.
French Camp improves to 14-2 on the season.
French Camp 10, Starkville Christian 3
The Panthers allowed just one hit and took a seven-run win over the Cougars on Monday.
French Camp scored two in the third, three in the fourth and four in the fifth and led 9-0 while Starkville scored three in the sixth. French Camp added a single run in the seventh.
French Camp had 10 hits as Noah Dew was 2-for-3 with four RBIs while Ethan Wright was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Nick Long was also 2-for-4 while Eli Withers scored three runs. Avery Summers and Will Taylor each scored two runs apiece for the Panthers.
Withers started on the mound and pitched five innings and walked four while striking out eight. Summers pitched the next 1 2/3 innings and gave up two runs on one hit while Dew got the last out but gave up a run while walking four.
French Camp 25, McAdams 0
The Panthers scored 21 runs in the second inning and took a run-rule win.
French Camp scored four in the first and then 21 in the second.
French Camp had seven hits as Ethan Wright was 2-for-2 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBIs. Carson Philyaw also doubled for French Camp while Eli Withers, Rylan Moore, Colton Shurden and Benjamin Wright singled and drove in two runs apiece.
Benjamin Wright started on the mounded and pitched both innings, giving up just one walk while striking out five.
French Camp 15, McAdams 0
The Panthers scored all their runs in the first inning to sweep the Bulldogs on Tuesday.
French Camp had just four hits and drew nine walks and had three hit batters. Benjamin Wright singled, scored twice and had three RBIs while Ethan Wright and Carson Philyaw both singled and had two RBIs. Avery Summers, Eli Withers, Noah Dew, and Logan Wright each scored two runs for the Panthers.
Logan Wright pitched just one inning and walked one and struck out two.
St. Andrew’s 13, French Camp 1
The Saints used a big third inning to take a run-rule win over the Panthers on Saturday.
Each team scored one in the first while St. Andrew’s scored eight in the third and four in the fourth.
French Camp had just four hits as Avery Summers was 3-for-3 with a double while Ethan Wright singled and had an RBI.
Carson Philyaw started on the mound and pitched three innings, giving up nine runs on five hits and five walks. Noah Dew pitched the last inning and gave up four runs on two hits and two walks.
