FFA hosted first petting zoo

At the Saturday Natchez Trace Festival, the Attala County Future Farmers of America launched its first FFA Petting Zoo. In an effort to teach children and instill a love of animals, the petting zoo had chickens, ducks, rabbits, turtles, a dog, a goat, a dairy calf, a snake and an alligator.

Vendor tells tale of local apple variety

When Capt. Davis came home to Kosciusko following his service in the Civil War, he traveled through the Carolinas and in one of the states he picked an apple, brought the seeds home and planted them on the family farm located approximately eight miles north of Kosciusko.
