The Central Holmes basketball teams split a pair of games this past week.
Central Holmes swept the Jackson homeschoolers as the girls won 36-25 and the boy won 63-56.
However, Central Holmes was swept by Canton as the girls fell 33-29 and the boys lost 44-32.
Central Holmes has a pair of games scheduled next week as they will host Tri-County Academy on Thursday and travel to rival Carroll on Friday.
Central Holmes boys 63, Jackson Victors 56
The Trojans had three players in double digits as the Trojans took a six-point win over the Victors on Monday.
Central Holmes used a steady offense to lead 36-30 at the half. Jackson outscored Central Holmes 10-8 in the third to cut the margin to 44-40. But Central Holmes took the fourth period 19-16 to take the win.
Lamar Buchanan led Central Holmes with 20 points while Bryce Hester had 16 points and John Ward added 14 points.
Central Holmes girls 36, Jackson Victors 25
The Lady Trojans pulled away in the second half as they took an 11-point win over Lady Victors.
Each team scored eight points in the first period and Central Holmes outscored Jackson 7-5 in the second to lead 15-13 at the half. Central Holmes pulled away by outscoring Jackson 11-4 in the third and 10-8 in the fourth to take the win.
Mackenzie Ward and Kenzie Cochran each had nine points apiece to lead the Lady Trojans.
Canton boys 44, Central Holmes 32
The Panthers outscored the Cougars in each of the last three periods to take a 12-point win over the Trojans.
Central Holmes led 11-10 at the end of the first but Canton took the second period 10-7 to lead 20-18 at the half. Canton continued to build on its lead as they outscored Central Holmes 12-6 in the third and 12-8 in the fourth.
John Ward led Central Holmes with eight points while Bryce Hester and John Word each had seven points apiece.
Canton girls 33, Central Holmes 29
The Lady Panthers used a big second period and held on to take a four-point win over the Lady Trojans.
Central Holmes led 12-10 at the end of the first. But Canton outscored Central Holmes 14-2 to lead 24-14 at the half. Central Holmes outscored Canton 9-7 in the third and 6-2 in the fourth for the final margin.
Taylor Spell led Central Holmes with nine points while Kenzie Cochran had eight points.
