Kosciusko boys basketball season comes to an end

The Kosciusko boys basketball season came to an end Monday with a 59-49 loss to Louisville in the opening round of the Region 4-4A tournament at Choctaw Central.
The Whippets led 27-23 at the half, but Louisville turned the game around outscoring Kosciusko 16-4 to start the second half.

Lady Bulldogs clinch spot in playoffs

A big fourth quarter gave McAdams girls a 42-35 victory over Ethel in the opening round of the Region 6-1A tournament at Leake County Monday, clinching a spot in the 1A playoffs.
The Lady Bulldogs will play top seed Sebastopol at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the semifinals.

Lady Whippets advanced to the semifinals

Kosciusko girls basketball advanced to the semifinals of the Region 4-4A tournament and qualified for the playoffs with a 54-29 victory over West Lauderdale Monday at Choctaw Central.
The Lady Whippets will play defending state champion Choctaw Central at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Jamiya Gray led Kosciusko with 27 points.

Gant, Pernell top scorers for boys, girls teams

Juniors Jonathan Gant and Raven Pernell were the top scorers for Kosciusko's boys and girls soccer teams.
Gant finished the season with 40 goals and six assists for the Whippets. Pernell led the Lady Whippets with 28 goals.
