Whippet soccer teams end season in first round of 4A region tourney

The Kosciusko soccer season might have come to an end last week with losses by the boys and girls teams in the MHSAA 4A playoffs, but Coach Greg Cooper took note of a season of accomplishments by both teams.

Kosciusko boys earn first-round bye in regional tourney, qualify for states

With two victories last week, Kosciusko boys’ basketball is assured of an opening round bye in the Region 4-4A tournament and will qualify for the state tournament. The Whippets improved to 6-2 in region play with wins over Louisville, 62-57, and Northeast Lauderdale, 76-62.

McAdams boys tie for first in Region 5-1A

A big fourth quarter allowed McAdams boys basketball to move into a tie for first in Region 5-1A. The Bulldogs outscored West Lowndes 24-15 in the final period for a 63-59 victory, leaving both teams at 5-1 in region play.

Ethel edges past Nanih Waiya, drops to McAdams

A free throw by Sacarro Merritt with 1.1 seconds left gave Ethel a 47-46 victory over Nanih Waiya for the Tigers' first 5-1A boys basketball victory of the season. It was a bounce back for Ethel following a 55-27 loss to French Camp three nights earlier.
