Kosciusko has a bye in the opening round of the 4A playoffs as champion of Region 4-4A, and will have a home match next Tuesday against the winner between Houston, the third place team in 3-4A, and Itawamba AHS, second in 2-4A.
In matches last week, the Lady Whippets were defeated by Starkville 25-12, 25-6, 25-20 and Nanih Waiya 25-12, 25-18, 25-19. Kaitlyn Broyles had seven kills and five aces in the matches.
Kosciusko closed out the regular season with a region match against Yazoo City Tuesday. The Lady Whippets were 5-0 in region play prior to the match. In an earlier match, Kosciusko defeated Yazoo City 3-0.
