It was a good week for the Ethel softball team as they collected three wins this past week.
The Lady Tigers beat Noxapater 7-5 on Tuesday and then beat rival French Camp 10-2 on Thursday. The Lady Tigers also took a 5-0 over Class 3A Union on Friday to finish the week.
Ethel was schedule to play Nanih Waiya on Monday and then host McAdams in a doubleheader on Tuesday before hosting Sebastopol on Thursday.
Ethel 10, French Camp 2
The Lady Tigers scored six in the first inning and took an eight-run win over the Lady Panthers on Thursday.
Ethel scored six in the first, one in the second and three in the fourth. French Camp scored one in the third and seventh innings.
Each team had two hits in the contest. Karli Fortenberry was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Emily Mitchell and Meredith Moudy also scored twice while Moudy and Lizzy Ellington each had two RBIs.
Elena White started in the circle and pitched seven innings, giving up two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out 11
Ethel 7, Noxapater 5
Ethel built an early lead and took a two-run win over Noxapater on Tuesday.
Ethel scored three runs in the first inning and one in the second and led 4-0. Noxapater scored two in the fourth to cut the lead to 4-2. But Ethel scored two in the top of the fifth to go up 6-2. Noxapater then scored three in the bottom of the fifth and led 6-5. Ethel added one run in the sixth for the final margin.
Ethel had seven hits in the contest. Brooke Mitchell was 2-for-4 while Meredith Moudy was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Brailin Rone was 2-for-3 with three RBIs while Emily Mitchell scored twice. Karli Fortenberry also drove in two runs.
Brooke Mitchell started in the circle and pitched all seven innings, giving up fie runs on seven hatstand one walk while striking out five.
