Whippets, Lady Whippets earn two wins each

Calvin Banks and Antonio Harmon combined for 25 points last Tuesday as Kosciusko (8-3) returned from the Thanksgiving break with a 63-36 win against J.Z. George. Jaquan Hall added 15 rebounds, and Omarion Cobbins chipped in with four steals.

The Whippets shot 49.1 percent (27 of 55) from the field.

Kosy’s Carter gets his kicks at Texas camp

Will Carter kicked a soccer ball long before he picked up a football. He did not do the latter until he was in the eighth grade, but he has not put the football down since.

Last week, Carter was one of fewer than 60 high school kickers from across the nation to participate in the Kicking World 2019 National Showcase in Austin, Texas.

Kosy girls drop tight contest to Starkville

Starkville defeated Kosciusko 2-0 last Friday in the Whippets’ return to the pitch from the Thanksgiving break. The loss dropped Kosciusko to 4-4 overall on the season. Kosciusko has a six-day break before resuming play on Friday at home against Winona. The Lady Whippets and Whippets also play on Saturday when Ridgeland visits Kosciusko.

Kosy set to visit McAdams Friday night

Kosciusko’s girls basketball program entered the holiday break on the heels of a 59-29 win against Eupora on Nov. 22. The win improved the Lady Whippets to 5-2 this season and gives them momentum ahead of region play.
