Kosciusko went 2-1 in games last week to improve to 15-4 on the season. The Whippets lone loss came to out-of-region opponent Noxubee County, so Kosciusko was able to keep its Region 4-4A record intact at 3-0.

Whippets stretch winning streak to five games

The Whippets opened Region 4-4A play with a 59-50 home win against Choctaw Central on Tuesday.

A pair of Kosciusko (13-3, 1-0 Region 4-4A) players scored in double-figures as Eshavious Mays and JaQuan Hall tallied 15 and 11 points, respectively. Mays shot 55.6 percent from the field while Hall was 57.1 percent.

Lady Whippets rally to take Shootout win over Kemper County

The Kosciusko Lady Whippets returned to the hardwood on Saturday to participate in the Meridian Shootout Tournament.

The Lady Whippets showed a little rust early from their holiday layoff, but they ultimately defeated Kemper County, 48-39.

After robust interest from more than three dozen candidates, Kosciusko athletic director Macy Wilbanks is confident the school search committee will find the right candidate for the job.

Kosciusko officials will interview six applicants.
