Whippets, Lady Whippets fall in first round of playoffs

Both Kosciusko soccer programs saw their seasons come to a close last week in the first round of the MHSAA Class 4A soccer playoffs.

The Newton County Lady Cougars defeated the Lady Whippets, 2-0, on Tuesday.

Whippets improve to 5-0 in Region 4-4A play

The Kosciusko (17-4, 5-0 Region 4-4A) boys basketball team went 2-0 in Region 4-4A play last week, posting wins against Leake Central and Choctaw Central.

The Whippets defeated the Gators, 46-43, last Tuesday, and closed the week with a 36-34 win on Friday against the Warriors.

Poor weather hinders Kosciusko soccer teams

Kosciusko’s soccer programs have been plagued with poor field conditions that haven’t allowed them to play their full schedule of games since returning to the pitch from the holiday break.
