It is the proverbial out of the frying pan and into the fire for McAdams.
After a 60-0 loss to South Delta, the Bulldogs have a road game Friday with Simmons, the state's top ranked 1A team. The Blue Devils are 6-0, including a 42-14 victory over South Delta and have outscored the opposition 264-20.
“They look like they can win the 1A state championship this year,” said McAdams Coach Kenneth Nelson. Simmons reached the South State final last year.
Nelson said his players never stopped playing hard against South Delta, adding, “There were no injuries. That's a positive.”
He said Bulldogs who played well are defensive back Jalen Greer and two-way lineman Malique Greer.
“Jalen Greer was solid,” said the coach. “They tried to throw a couple of deep balls on him and he played them well.”
Not counting games forfeited because the school was virtual due to COVID cases earlier in the season, McAdams is 1-3 and 1-1 in Region 2-1A. Simmons leads the region at 3-0.
