The Central Holmes girls basketball team tipped off the regular season last week but struggled to find a win.
Central Holmes lost three games as they lost to 46-25 to Washington, 37-26 to Lee and 50-34 to Delta.
Central Holmes will return to play this week as they play in the Benton Tournament this week. The following week, they will host Columbus Christian on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
Washington 46, Central Holmes 25
The Lady Generals got off to a fast start and took a 21-point win over the Lady Trojans on Tuesday to start the season.
Washington outscored Central Holmes 8-0 in the first and 18-7 in the second to lead 26-7 at the half. Washington continued to extend the lead, outscoring Central Holmes 14-5 in the third to take a 40-12 lead going to the fourth. Central Holmes took the fourth period 13-6 for the final margin.
Allie McBride and Drue Johnson led Central Holmes with six points apiece.
Lee Academy 37, Central Holmes 26
The Lady Trojans couldn’t hold onto a lead as the Lady Colts pulled away to take an 11-point win on Wednesday.
Central Holmes outscored Lee 10-6 and led 15-12 at the half. Lee took the third period 8-7 to cut the lead to 22-20 going to the fourth. Lee took the fourth period 17-4 for the final margin.
Allie McBride led Central Holmes with eight points.
Delta 50, Central Holmes 34
The Lady Raiders used a big third period to take a 16-point win over the Lady Trojans on Thursday.
Delta led 11-5 at the end of the first and 20-12 at the half. Delta pulled away in the third, outscoring Central Holmes 20-5 to lead 40-17 going to the fourth. Central Holmes took the fourth period 17-10 for the final margin.
Allie McBride led Central Holmes with 10 points.
