The Ethel Tigers had a busy spring break as they got in four games on the baseball diamond.
Ethel won one of four games and beat Westmoreland 3-0 on Monday.
The Tigers then lost 5-3 to Madison Academy and then lost 10-0 to Robertsdale. The Tigers then lost 7-2 to Jackson Southside to finish out the week.
Ethel moves to 7-7 on the season as they enter division play this week.
Ethel 3, Westmoreland 0
The Tigers only gave up three hits and took a shutout win over the Eagles on Monday.
Ethel scored one in the first and two in the second for their three runs.
Gabe Cain tripled and drove in two runs while Ethan Bishop also singled. Wes Bishop walked twice and scored two runs while Hunter Hutchinson walked and scored. Kameron Fortenberry also had an RBI.
Bishop started on the mound and pitched seven shutout innings, scattering three hits and two walks while striking out 14.
Madison Academy 5, Ethel 3
The Mustangs built an early lead and scored late to take a two-run win over the Tigers on Tuesday.
Madison scored one in the second and two in the third to lead 3-0. Ethel then tied the game with three runs in the fifth before Madison scored one in the fifth and sixth innings.
Madison outhit Ethel 5-4 in the contest. Wes Bishop was 2-for-3 while Gabe Cain doubled and scored a run. Colin White also singled and walked twice.
Eli Ramage pitched 4 1/3 innings and gave up four runs on five hits while striking out three. Lukas Gowan pitched the next 1 2/3 innings and gave up one run on one hit.
Robertsdale 10, Ethel 0
The Tigers only had two hits as they lost a run-rule game to the Golden Bears.
Robertsdale scored two in the first and fourth while scoring six in the third.
Ethel had just two hits as Colin White and Wes Bishop each singled.
Gabe Cain started on the mound and pitched 2 2/3 innings and gave up eight runs on four hits and three walks. Ethan Bishop pitched 2/3 of an inning and gave up two runs on one hit and one walk. Karter McCuller pitched the last 2/3 of an inning without giving up a run.
Jackson Southside 7, Ethel 2
Jackson took an early lead and pulled away to take a five-run win over the Tigers on Wednesday.
Jackson scored one in the first and two in the second and led 3-0. Ethel scored one in the third and fifth to cut the score to 3-2. Jackson then scored three in the fifth and one in the sixth.
Jackson outhit Ethel 8-5 in the contest. Collin White was 3-for-e and scored both Ethel runs. Wes Bishop also fouled and had an RBI.
Collin White started on the mound and pitched two innings and gave up three unearned runs on two hits and three walks while striking out two. Hunter Hutchinson pitched the next four innings and gave up four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three.
