McAdams boys and girls teams both finished fifth in Region 3 powerlifting meets. The boys meet was held at Bruce and the girls at Velma Jackson.
McAdams competes in Class I for 1A and 2A schools.
For the boys team, five lifters qualified for the South State meet February 25 at Vardaman by finishing in the top three. Four girls qualified for South State March 4 at West Lincoln.
For the Bulldogs, Nate Donaldson at the 123 pound weight class and Chris Harmon at 181 finished first, Preston Donaldson at 123 and D.K. Williams at 181 were second and Jay Young was third at 165. Harmon is the defending 165 165 champion.
Shawnessey Martin, 165, and Kiyah Harmon, 132, won their weight classes at the girls meet, Amber Harmon was second at 132 and Jada Head third at 165. Martin and Amber Harmon were both third in their weight classes at the 2022 state meet.
First year coach Roy Rigsby gave credit to his assistant, Mitchell Myer. “He did an awesome job.”
