Rone joins Attala Co. school board

New Attala County School District board member Sheila Rone said she will bring her expertise as a retired teacher to the board.

She ran unopposed for the seat vacated by Rodger Clark, who did not seek reelection.

Rone actually became interested in the possibility of being on the school board before she retired.

Ozell Landfair, Jr. became the newest member of the Kosciusko School Board beginning in that role at the start of the year. He was appointed to the board by the Board of Aldermen in December when board member Randy Fuller’s term expired.

Landfair said he is primarily interested in the school board position because of his children.

Or perhaps they remember him as the great-grandson of Star-Herald publisher Wiley Sanders and grandson of publisher Stokes Sanders. Upon his grandfather’s death, his parents Della and Billy McMillan became publishers of paper.
