Whitney C. Dorsey, 39, departed this life to be with Her Heavenly Father on January 2, 2026 at her home in North Little Rock, AR. Born on July 22nd,1986, she was the daughter of H.L. & Mary Doresy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved brother Steven Dorseym grandparents: O.K. Dorsey Sr. & Mrs. Minnie Dorsey; grandfather: Walter Grant; great grandmother; Essie Reed; uncles; Andrew Hayes, Lanthauns Marshall, Billy Horn Sr. & Tucker Tatum.

Parts of Arkansas are experiencing dry conditions, increasing the risk of wildfires. Sparks from activities such as fireworks, outdoor equipment, or open flames can ignite dry vegetation and cause fires to spread quickly.

The National Weather Service is forecasting an "impactful" winter storm will move into the area Friday afternoon and bring freezing rain, sleet, snow and dangerously low subfreezing temperatures, with potential ice impacts on infrastructure.
An arctic cold front is expected to bring frozen precipitation late Friday and create icy conditions, with the temperature falling from a high near 42 to a low around 18 Friday night. The chance of precipitation is 50% Friday and 80% Friday night, when up to a half-inch of ice could coat the area.

The AG’s office is requesting less funding for the next fiscal year but wants the Legislature to provide salary increases to help retain and attract staff.
For the second consecutive year, the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office has requested less funding than the prior year, asking lawmakers only for an increase in salaries given the loss of attorneys to higher-paying jobs.

More than 30 states have passed “Tim Tebow” laws, allowing homeschool students to participate in public school extracurricular activities. It is up for consideration in Mississippi again this legislative session.
