Kosciusko was fifth of 10 teams in a match at Lake Caroline Golf Club in Madison. The Whippets had a team score of 328 trailing Madison Central 300, Loyd Star 303, St. Andrew’s 313 and Hernando 316.
Overall coach Shane Thrash was pleased but said “We should have been closer to the top.”

Whippets’ high-octane offense powers 55-35 opening win

Kosciusko’s high-octane offense was in midseason form with 607 yards, more than nine yards per play, in a season-opening 55-35 victory over Neshoba Central.
“It even surprised me how well we played being the first game of the season. The offense was rolling like it was week 6 or 7,” said coach Casey Orr.

Turnovers doom McAdams in season-opening loss

Turnovers were the main problem when McAdams suffered a season-opening 44-0 loss to Amite County, a strong 2A team.
