The McAdams Lady Bulldogs were a perfect 4-0 last week with wins over West Lowndes, Water Valley, Coffeeville and Charleston before falling to MHSAA Class 2A Winona on Monday night, moving their overall record to 6-2.
In last Tuesday’s 74-33 blowout win over the West Lowndes Lady Panthers, the Lady Bulldogs took an astounding 41-7 lead into the half. It was pretty much more of the same in the second half and the Lady Bulldogs cruised to a 41-point victory. The leaders for the Lady Bulldogs were Ke’Mara Atterberry with 20 points, two rebounds, two assists and three steals; Zykeria Lewis with 10 points and seven boards; Seneca Evans with nine points, nine rebounds and three assists; Jakyra Young with seven points, five rebounds, three assists and one steal and Miracle Phillips with seven points, one rebound, four assists and one steal.
On Thursday night of last the Lady Bulldogs cruised again with a 54-21 thumping of the Water Valley Lady Blue Devils. The leaders for the Lady Bulldogs were Young with 13 points, two rebounds and one assist; Atterberry with nine points, one rebound, four assists and eight steals; Evans with eight points, five rebounds, one assist and two steals and Phillips with six points, one rebound and three steals. Santija Rockett rounded out the leaders with four points, three rebounds and four steals.
The very next day(Friday), the Lady Bulldogs were at it again when they crushed Coffeeville 74-28. The Lady Bulldogs cruised to a 53-21 first half lead and held the Lady Pirates to only seven second half points. The leaders for the Lady Bulldogs were Young with 19 points, six boards, four assists and five steals; Phillips with 11 points, two rebounds, three assists and six steals; Evans with 10 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and four steals; Kiara Brown with nine points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals and Lewis with nine points, nine rebounds, one assist and one steal.
The Charleston Lady Tigers provided a little more competition for the Lady Bulldogs on Saturday with McAdams leaving with a close 50-45 win. The Lady Bulldogs overcame a 24-20 halftime deficit, outscoring the Lady Tigers 30-21 in the second half to grab their sixth win of the year. The leaders for the Lady Bulldogs were Young with 22 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals; Atterberry with 10 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals and Brown with seven points, one board and one assist.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to Winona on Monday night by a score of 73-66 (no stats available at press time), and played Montgomery County on Tuesday night. The Lady Bulldogs will tip at 6 p.m. in Macon on Friday night when they travel to take on the MHSAA Class 4A Noxubee County Lady Tigers.
