Kosciusko will travel to East Webster on Friday, Aug. 28, for a football scrimmage that first-year head coach Casey Orr worked hard to get on the schedule.
“It's important as a new coach trying to implement the offense,” Orr said. “We're just glad to find someone to scrimmage to get our guys on the field trying to work out some problems and some kinks before we get into games.”
The decision by the Mississippi High School Activities Association Executive Committee to delay the beginning of the season two weeks resulted in the cancellation of games with Yazoo County and Newton County.
Kosciusko did add a game at Holly Springs on Sept. 27 to fill what had previously been an open date. Orr wanted to play the game at home to replace the home game with Newton County that was lost, but it will be on the road.
The first game will be on the road against Winona on Sept. 4. The first Region 4-4A game will be Oct. 2 at home against Choctaw Central.
