The Lady Whippets improved to 10-2 overall on the year with two shutout wins over Leake Central and a one-run loss to Louisville.
In the Louisville contest last Tuesday, Lakelynn Fancher got the start and gave up four runs in the Lady Whippet 5-4 loss. The offensive leaders for the Lady Whippets were Kelly Hood with a single and two runs scored; Gabbie Kelley with a single; Kelly Sheets with a single; Joie Johnson with two singles; Makenzie Ryals with two singles; Fancher with a single; Sarah Caroline Henderson with one run scored and AnnaLeigh Jones with one run scored.
The Whippets picked up two wins on Monday night by defeating the Leake Central Lady Gators 11-0 in game one and 4-0 in game two. Fancher got the start and wins in both games, giving up no runs. The offensive leaders in game one were Hood with two doubles and three runs scored; Kelley with a double and two runs scored; Sheets with a double, home run and one run scored; Johnson with a single; Ameria Riley with a single; Sania Riley with two singles; Henderson with a single and one run scored; Ryals with one run scored; Melissa Gowan with one run scored and Laken Milner with one run scored.
Game two offensive leaders were Kelley with two singles and one run scored; Sheets with a double; Johnson with a single; Ameria Riley with a double and one run scored; Sania Riley with two singles and one run scored; Henderson with two singles and Fancher with two singles.
The Lady Whippets will be back in action at 5 p.m. on Monday when they travel to French Camp for a doubleheader.
