Kosciusko senior Abby McGee signed with Holmes Community College as a cheerleader even though she has not been a cheerleader since junior high school. She was a cheerleader at Kosciusko Junior High School in the seventh and eighth grades, but not during her four high school years.
McGee has been involved in gymnastics for many years. She attended a cheerleading clinic with a friend, Kosciusko graduate Abby Holmes, who was a Holmes cheerleader prior to her graduation in December.
Holmes CC cheerleading coach Heather Jones said it was the skills as a gymnast that McGee displayed at the clinic that resulted in the offer of a scholarship. “Her talent, her drive, her motivation, her respect for herself and the cheer program.”
