The Whippets improved to 3-0 in Region 4-4A play last week with wins over Houston and Caledonia, while the Lady Whippets moved to 2-1 last week with a loss to Houston and a win over Caledonia. The Whippets are 16-3 overall while the Lady Whippets are 12-7 on the year.
In last Tuesday’s matchup with Houston, the Whippets won the contest 46-35 while the Lady Whippets dropped the region battle 45-41.
The leaders for the Whippets were Stefan Harmon with nine points and eight rebounds and JaQuan Williams with seven points and four assists. The leaders for the Lady Whippets were Alexis McBride with 19 points and five assists and Feria Mays with 12 points.
In Friday night’s road sweep of the Caledonia Confederates the Whippets won 67-55 while the Lady Whippets hammered the Lady Confederates 53-40.
The leaders on Friday night for the Whippets were Johnny Forrest with 22 points and three steals; Calvin Banks with 15 points and two steals; Terry Skinner with 15 points and Harmon with 11 points and seven rebounds.
The leaders for the Lady Whippets were Indya Haynes with 16 points and seven rebounds; Mays with 13 points and four steals and Makenzie Horrall with 10 points and five rebounds.
The Whippets hosted Leake Central on Tuesday night and will host Noxubee County this Friday night at 6 p.m.
