Former Whippet Jacob Peeler was recently named a Top-25 Recruiter by Rivals.com after being recognized as a coach with the ability to bring in top talent.
Peeler, who had tough obstacles to overcome in recruiting since becoming the wide receivers coach for the Ole Miss Rebels, helped to haul in a Top 25 class with his ability to recruit top talent at the receiver position.
The obstacles that Peeler overcame were the sudden resignation of former head coach Hugh Freeze in July, an NCAA investigation and not knowing if the interim tag was going to be removed from current head coach Matt Luke’s title.
None of those obstacles were conducive to recruiting, but Peeler was able to gain the signature of several blue-chip recruits, aiding in a successful recruiting season for the Rebels.
