The McAdams Lady Bulldogs (20-8) earned a berth into the MHSAA Class 1A Quarterfinals with wins over Sacred Heart and West Lowndes last Monday and Friday and will play Blue Mountain (20-8) on Thursday at Jackson State with tip at 7 p.m.
In the Lady Bulldogs’ win over Sacred Heart, McAdams jumped out to an early 17-11 lead after one quarter of play and led 40-18 going into the half. The Lady Bulldogs outscored the Lady Crusaders 41-21 in the second half and cruised to an easy 81-39 win to advance into the second round to take on West Lowndes.
The leaders for the Lady Bulldogs against Sacred Heart were Santisja Rockett with one assist and four steals; Ke’Mara Atterberry with 10 points, seven rebounds, nine assists and six steals; Haley Perteet with five points; Iyanla Malone with five points and one assist; Jakyra Young with 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and six steals; Kiara Brown with nine points, nine rebounds, two assists and four steals; Kneisha Erving with 26 points, nine rebounds and two steals and Cavian Bolton with six points, three rebounds and three steals.
No stats were available for the Lady Bulldogs 60-44 second round win over West Lowndes last Friday night.
With a win over Blue Mountain in the quarterfinals on Thursday, the Lady Bulldogs will take on the Tremont/Leake County winner in the semifinals next Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Mississippi Coliseum.
