The Kosciusko Lady Whippets (2-0) started their season on Saturday with a dominating sweep of the Choctaw Central Lady Warriors, winning game one 10-4 and game two 12-0.
In game one, Katie Mitchell got the start and win for the Lady Whippets, allowing four runs while striking out four.
The offensive leaders for Kosciusko in game one were Josie Meggs with a single and two runs scored; Maddy Gilmore with a double and two runs scored; AnnaLeigh Jones with a single and two runs scored; Madeline McCown with a single and two RBI; Kelly Hood with a run scored; Katie Mitchell with a run scored; Abigail Myers with a run scored and Melissa Gowan with a run scored.
In game two, Gilmore got the start and win, allowing no runs on two hits in three innings pitched. Emmagail Kelley came on in relief of Gilmore and pitched one inning, allowing no hits or runs while striking out one Lady Warrior.

The Lady Whippets played Nanih Waiya on Tuesday and will travel to Morton on Thursday for a 5 p.m. contest before hosting Cleveland in a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. The Whippets will then travel to Winona next Tuesday for a 5 p.m. contest before hosting Morton next Friday at 5 p.m. The Lady Whippets will then entertain both Choctaw County and Caledonia next Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
