The Ethel Tigers lost twice last week to McAdams and Montgomery County while the Lady Tigers split with a loss to McAdams and a win over Montgomery County. The Tigers overall record now stands at 4-9 overall with an 0-3 Region 5 mark while the Lady Tigers are now 2-12 and 1-2 in region play.
In the Tigers 72-69 loss to McAdams, D’Ayres Merritt scored 22 points, Sean Williams scored 12 points with three assists and Julius Erving netted 8 points with eight boards. Lyndon Veasley grabbed 10 boards and blocked eight shots in the contest.
On Friday night the Tigers dropped a 55-42 decision to Montgomery County with Merritt being the leading scorer for the Tigers with 14 points. Cory Felton netted nine points while Erving scored seven points with eight rebounds, four steals and two assists.
Stats were not available for the Lady Tigers at press time.
Both the Tigers and Lady Tigers hosted French Camp on Tuesday night and will travel to Durant on Friday night for a 6 p.m. contest.
