The Ethel fast-pitch softball team continued its impressive start to the 2018 season with a trio of victories at home last week.
The Lady Tigers whipped visiting Nanih Waiya 12-2 on Tuesday, then blanked French Camp Academy 12-0 on Thursday. On Friday, Ethel
coasted to a 15-0 win over Independence.
In winning all three contests by the 10-run rule, Ethel scored in every at-bat against Nanih Waiya and took control with a five-run rally in the third inning.
They scored eight times in the third inning against French Camp and were in control from the beginning in the 15-0 blanking of Independence Friday.
This week, the Lady Tigers had lots of tournament action scheduled. They were to begin the week with contests against Lake and Morton in the Kosciusko Spring Break Tournament. On Friday, they are scheduled to go to the Eupora Tournament where they are slated to face the host Lady Eagles as well as Madison St. Joseph.
Next week is also a busy one for Ethel, as the Lady Tigers are scheduled to visit Winona on Monday (March 19) and go to Noxapater on Tuesday (March 20). On Thursday (March 22), Ethel is scheduled to host East Webster, then go to the Sebastopol Tournament on Saturday (March 24) to battle Lake and Leake Central.
