The Ethel Lady Tigers will look towards their experience to improve upon last year’s 7-17 overall record and 4-4 record in Region 5-1A play.
The Lady Tigers will look to the experience of senior Avery Bouchillon who is a three-year starter and has played since she was an eighth grader, junior Dottie Townsend who has been playing since the seventh grade and sophomore Akilah Erving who has been playing regularly since the eighth grade and was Ethel’s leading scorer last season.
“Each one brings a different strength for us as a team,” said Ethel head coach Patrick Dillinger. “Dottie (Townsend) is a pretty good shooter, Avery (Bouchillon) will do anything she’s asked to do and will do whatever it takes to win a ball game and Akilah (Erving) brings us a lot of athleticism. Those three should carry us as long as we stay healthy.”
Out of the 15 players on the Lady Tiger roster, only one has never played high school basketball and that has Dillinger feeling pretty good about the upcoming season.
“There is still a lot of youth, but it looks like we are getting better with experience. We still do have a long way to go, but I will be satisfied if we continue to get better.” added Dillinger. “Right now we are just trying to find our way and get better every game.”
