The Central Holmes Lady Trojans started out the season in fine fashion last week as they won all four games they played in the Winona Christian Tournament.
The Lady Trojans did have their hands full in the championship game as they beat Indianola 9-8 to take the tournament win. They also beat Carroll 5-3 and host Winona Christian 4-1. They also took a quick win over Heritage Academy.
The Lady Trojans have a full week of games scheduled for this week as they are scheduled to host Canton on Monday and Benton on Tuesday.
On Friday, the Lady Trojans will host Deer Creek and then play in the Indianola Academy Tournament on Saturday.
Central Holmes 5, Carroll 3
In a time-limit contest, Central Holmes scored in both innings and held off the Lady Rebels to take a two-run win on Saturday at the Winona Tournament.
Central Holmes scored three in the first and two in the second. Carroll scored two in the first and one in the second.
Carroll outhit Central Holmes 5-4 in the contest. Meri Brynn Reeves doubled and scored a run while Sara Austin Welch also doubled. Mary Jordan Milton singled and drove in a run while Kaitlyn Chamblee and Presley Woods also singled. Woods also had an RBI.
Kaylee Polk doubled and scored two runs for Central Holmes while Aubrey Carr had a double and two RBIs. Morgan Bigbee doubled, scored and drove in a run while Ragan Brown singled and drove in a run.
Central Holmes 4, Winona Christian 1
The Lady Trojans limited the Lady Stars to just two hits and took a three-run win over the Lady Stars on Saturday.
Central Holmes scored one run in the first and second innings and four in the fourth. Winona scored one run in the fifth inning.
Central Holmes outhit Winona 6-2 in the game. Kaylee Polk was 3-for-3. Morgan Bigbee and Ragan Brown each had a single and scored a run.
