It was another season to remember for the Central Holmes girls basketball team.
The Lady Trojans repeated as District 2-AAA regular-season and tournament champions this season. The Lady Trojan beat Winona Christian 47-25 in the district championship game to advance to the Class AAA North State championship series.
That tournament was hosted by Central Holmes where it opened with a 73-38 win over Marshall Academy in the opening round. That set up a rematch with Winona Christian where the Lady Trojans beat the Lady Stars 48-29 for their fourth victory of the season over their district rivals.
That set up a championship game with North Delta, one of the preseason favorites to win Class AAA. The Lady Trojans couldn’t cash in on their home-court advantage as the Lady Wave took an 83-50 win in the championship game.
The Lady Trojans advanced to the state tournament where they met Columbia Academy in the first round, a game they lost 44-32 to end their season.
The Lady Trojans finished the season with a 26-10 record, their second straight season with 20-plus win for coach Nikki Edwards.
