The Lady Whippets slowpitch team started out the 2016 season with a resounding 14-2 win over the French Camp Lady Panthers on Saturday. Lakelynn Fancher got the start and the win, allowing only two runs in the contest.
The offensive leaders for the Lady Whippets were Kelly Hood with a single, Joie Johnson with a single and two runs scored, Laken Milner with a single and two runs scored, Kelly Sheets with a single and a triple, Sarah Caroline Henderson with a double and one run scored, Fancher with a single and three runs scored, Sania Riley with a single and two runs scored, AnnaLeigh Jones with a single, Gabbie Kelley with one run scored, Makenzie Ryals with one run scored and Ameria Riley with two runs scored.
The Lady Whippets played at Nanih Waiya on Tuesday and will host Starkville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
