Former Kosciusko High School standout Walker Yuille banged out four hits for Holmes Community College last week, including a double, while scoring five runs and driving in another.
The HCC Bulldogs stretched their baseball winning streak to seven games with a trio of doubleheader sweeps last week.
Holmes beat Williams Baptist College 14-4 and 10-1 on March 4, rolled past Blue Mountain College 5-1 and 11-3 on March 6, and took a pair of thrillers over Nunez Community College 3-2 and 8-7 on Sunday.
Ethan Gowan, also a Kosciusko alum, pitched in the two wins over Williams Baptist, combining for 3.0 innings pitched with just two hits and a strikeout. He also picked up a hit at the plate in the 11-3 win over Blue Mountain. The freshman left-hander has pitched in six games so far this year, with a 1.35 ERA in six appearances covering 6.2 innings.
Yuille, a freshman catcher, sees action at designated hitter for the Bulldogs when not behind the plate. He is hitting .250 on the season with five hits, including a double, to go with seven runs scored and two RBIs. He has played in 12 games for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs, now 15-1 on the season, were set to host East Central Community College in a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m., before visiting Jones College for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Tuesday.
