The French Camp girls won the 5-1A track meet last week at the Winona High School track. FCA boys came in third.
In the girls meet, French Camp finished with 83 points to 79 for runner-up Durant. Ethel had 60, McAdams 55 and Montgomery County 13. For the boys, Durant won with 98 points, McAdams had 79, French Camp 74, Montgomery County 55 and Ethel 13.
French Camp won five boys events and four girls events.
Colby Walters was a double winner for the Panthers with victories in the 800 in a time of 2:20 and the 1600 (5:22). David Duarte won the 3200 (13:31), Jason May the pole vault (10-0) and Willis McCord the discus (104-1). McCord also took second in the shot put (39-11) and the long jump (19-10) and Duarte was third in the 1600 (5:35).
Tessa Mullins won two events for the Lady Panthers and Ami Sherrif one. Mullins finished first in the 1600 in 7:37 and the 3200 (18.49) and was third in the 800 (3:26). Sheriff won the 800 (2:50) and was second in the 400 (1:12.71).
The top four in each event qualified for the region meet Thursday at Ridgeland High School, along with qualifiers from District 6.
For the FCA boys, other qualifiers were Kevin Cundiff, 800, third; Cameron McDaniel, 800, fourth; Connor Paladino, 3200, second; and Ian Paladino, 3200, third.
Other FCA girls who qualified: Maddi Davis, 800, second, 400, fourth, 100 hurdles, second, and 300 hurdles, third; Arianna Vidal, 1600, second’ Elizabeth Albro, 1600, third; and Emi Holman, long jump second, and discus, third.
