“This season was challenging and obviously from a win-loss standpoint it was disappointing. Ethel has seen its fair share of disappointment when it comes to football,” said Ethel coach Dave McCrory. “I did not graduate from EHS but lots of my family did and this is a special place to me. I want the community to rally behind these young men and trust the process that I have put in place for this program to succeed.
“I am proud of the players that stuck with it during such a trying time,” he said. “We are a better team for going through such adversity and it will show soon. I hope that our players learned more that just football because knowing that they are going to become responsible young men and leaders are more important to me that winning football games.
“I want to thank the supporters that hung in there from start to finish and that are still standing beside me today,” McCrory said. “Going through these hard times will be worth it soon.”
