Ethel Lady Tigers would get four wins on the week with Ray Brooks forfeiting two games and on the field wins over Nanih Waiya 11-2 and French Camp 12-0.
The Lady Tigers (11-7, 8-0 Region 5-1A) clinched the Region 5-1A championship and first round bye in the MHSAA Class 1A Fast-Pitch Softball Playoffs.
Ethel will play the winner of Resurrection-Houlka in the second round on April 22 and 23.
Ethel is set to play Caledonia on Wednesday in order to stay prepared for the playoffs.
"We are looking pretty good going into the playoffs," said EHS coach Tyler McKinley. "We never really had all of our players together at the same time early in the year. They only played together for six games."
He said the pitching has been solid and that the Lady Tigers have also been able to come up with timely hitting.
"We are not going to score a bunch of runs, but we know how to push across runs when we have to and get hits when we need them," he said. "That's going tone important playing against the competition we are having to face."
The Lady Tigers will be on the road for the playoffs Monday and will host games two (and three if necessary) on Tuesday.
