Ethel would sweep French Camp by one run in each game to clinch the No. 2 seed out of Region 5-1A. The Tigers (16-5) will face West Lowndes in the first round of the MHSAA Class 1A Baseball Playoffs that begins on Friday.
Game 1 will be at Ethel on Friday, Game 2 at West Lowndes on Saturday, and if necessary Game 3 will be at Ethel on Monday.
Ethel 3, French Camp 2
Hayden Langford had two hits to lead the Tigers past the Panthers in the first game of the series. Langford, Alex Schuster and Hayden Graves all had a RBI each for Ethel, while Reeves Threadgill got the win on the mound.
Ethel 7, French Camp 6
Schuster would have three hits with three RBI's as the Tigers held off the Panthers to sweep the series. Brady Bishop got the win on the mound in relief for Ethel. Hayden Beall and Tyler Weaver added two hits.
