The Ethel baseball team suffered three losses last week, two of them to the two-time defending 1A state champions in Nanih Waiya.
The Tigers (14-5, 4-2 Region 5-1A) will face French Camp on Tuesday at home and at French Camp on Friday to determine who will be the No. 2 and 3 seeds out of the division heading into the Class 1A playoffs. Ethel travels to Scott Central on Saturday.
Nanih Waiya 14, Ethel 4
Alex Schuster and John Braxton McBride would have two hits each to lead the Ethel, but the Warriors were just too much. Reeves Threadgill took the loss on the mound for the Tigers.
Nanih Waiya 9, Ethel 8
It came down to the last swing as the Warriors edged the Tigers. Tyler Weaver had two hits with four RBIs to lead the Ethel offense. Hayden Beall and Hayden Graves also had two hits for the Tigers. Threadgill took the loss on the mound in relief for Ethel.
Sebastopol 8, Ethel 7
The Bobcats would jump out to a 7-1 lead, but Ethel would tie the game in the top of the seventh; however, Sebastopol would score a run in the bottom of the seventh to win. Schuster and Beall had two hits, while Tanner Reeves had three RBIs for Ethel. Brady Bishop took the loss on the mound in relief for the Tigers.
