The Central Holmes Lady Trojans won two out of three games last week.
The Lady Trojans lost 15-1 to Canton Academy and took a pair of wins, beating Benton 9-1 and Deer Creek 6-1.
“We had four starters out against Canton and lost 15-1,” Central Holmes coach Jerry Polk said. “That’s a game we should have won but had too many injuries to get it together.
The Lady Trojans, now 7-1 on the season, have another busy week ahead of them. The Lady Trojans will play at Benton on Monday and then host Manchester Academy on Thursday before traveling to Sharkey-Issaquena on Friday. The Lady Trojans will then play in the Canton Tournament on Saturday.
Canton Academy 15, Central Holmes 1
Canton broke open a scoreless game with 15 runs in the last three innings to win by the run rule and hand the Lady Trojans their first loss of the season.
Canton scored two in the fourth, four in the fifth and nine in the sixth while Central Holmes scored its lone run in the sixth.
Canton outhit Central Holmes 13-2 in the game.
Kaylee Polk had both of Central Holmes hits with a pair of doubles.
Central Holmes 9, Benton 1
The Lady Trojans outhit the Lady Raiders 8-3 and took an eight-run win on Tuesday.
Central Holmes scored two in the first and fourth, one in the third and four in the fifth.
Kaylee Polk was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs while Aubrey Carr was 2-for-4. #15 was 2-for-3 with two RBIs while Morgan Bigbee had a triple, scored two runs and had two RBIs.
