The Central Holmes Lady Trojans split a pair of games last week as they beat Benton 38-36 but lost to Manchester 53-27.
Central Holmes will return to action this week as they are scheduled to host Clinton Christian on Monday and Tri-County on Tuesday. Both teams will travel to Columbus Christian on Friday to round out the pre-Thanksgiving schedule.
Against Benton, the Lady Trojans managed to pick up a 38-36 win over the Lady Raiders. Central Holmes jumped ahead 14-3 in the first period before Benton outscored the Lady Trojans 14-7 in the second to cut the lead to 21-17. Benton took the third period 11-9 to cut the lead to 30-28. Each team scored eight points in the fourth for the final margin.
Makaylee Polk led Central Holmes with 15 points. In the junior high game, Benton took a 35-28 win as Taylor Spell led the way with 14 points.
Against Manchester, the Lady Mavericks took a 53-27 win over the Lady Trojans. Manchester outscored Central Holmes in every period as they led 12-5 at the end of the first and 21-12 at the half. Manchester continued to extend the lead in the second half, outscoring Central Holmes 18-6 in the third and 14-9 in the fourth. Breann Bell led Central Holmes with seven points. In the junior high game, Manchester took a 38-24 lead as Taylor Spell led the team with 12 points.
There was no information available on the boys game played versus Benton. The Trojans did not play against Manchester because the Mavericks are the playoffs.
