It wasn’t a good week for the Central Holmes basketball teams as they got swept by Carroll Academy and Tri-County Academy.
The Lady Trojans lost 43-19 to Carroll and 53-36 to Tri-County. The Trojans lost 56-48 to Carroll and 64-55 to Tri-County.
Central Holmes only has one game schedule this week as they are scheduled to host Greenville St. Joseph on Thursday. The following week they will play in the Kirk Academy Tournament on Monday, Dec. 20 and Tuesday, Dec. 21.
Carroll boys 56, Central Holmes 48
The Rebels grabbed an early lead and finished strong as they took an eight-point win over the Trojans.
Carroll jumped out to a 20-10 lead in first period and each team scored 11 in the second period as the Rebels led 31-21 at the half. Central Holmes fought back in the fourth period and outscored Carroll 19-9 to tie the game at 40-40 going into the fourth. Carroll outscored Central Holmes 16-8 in the fourth to take the win.
Lamarion Buchanon led Central Holmes with 17 points while Bryce Hester had 16 points.
Carroll girls 43, Central Holmes 19
The Lady Rebels outscored the Lady Trojans in every period and cruised to a 24-point win.
Carroll led 10-5 at the end of the first and outscored Central Holmes 9-6 in the second to lead 19-11 at the half. Carroll then outscored Central Holmes 15-5 in the third and 9-2 in the fourth to take the win.
Taylor Spell led Central Holmes with seven points.
Tri-County boys 64, Central Holmes 55
The Rebels jumped out to a quick lead and held that margin as they took an 11-point win.
Tri-County jumped out to a 19-4 lead in the first period while Central Holmes outscored the Rebels 17-15 in the second to cut the lead to 34-21 at the half. Central Holmes got within striking distance as they outscored Tri-County 21-12 to cut the margin to 46-42 going into the fourth. But Tri-County held on and outscored Central Holmes 18-13 in the fourth for the final margin.

The Lady Rebels outscored the Lady Trojans in every period and cruised to a 17-point win.
Tri-County led 13-5 at the end of the first and 26-13 at the half. Tri-County took the third period 20-18 and the fourth 7-5 for the final margin.
Taylor Spell led Central Holmes with 16 points.
