New Hope Missionary Baptist Church will present the Possumneck/West Festival June 2-3.
In preparation for the festival, the church is holding an art contest.
“We would like to extend an invitation to the general public for anyone who would like to enter the drawing and coloring contest,” said Evangelist Verna R. Felton, a member of New Hope and the Possumneck/West Festival Committee.
Those participating can color the Possumneck emblem or make their own design.
Children and adults are welcome to participate. Winners will be selected in age groups of 6-18, 18-35 and 35 and older.
“It gives people an opportunity to be creative, think or design something that they think will go along with the Possumneck emblem,” said Felton.
The winning artwork will be featured during the festival.
“We want to see some creativity,” said Felton. “We want to see how creative people can be with this Possumneck sign.”
The deadline to enter the contest is May 19.
