The French Camp Panthers added two more wins to their total as they swept a pair of games from Noxapater this week.
The Panthers took a 6-5 walk-off win on Tuesday and then won a 17-11 slugfest on Thursday.
French Camp improves to 11-1 on the season. French Camp is scheduled to play at McAdams on Tuesday and host the Bulldogs on Friday. On Saturday, the Panthers will travel to Jackson to take on St. Andrew’s.
French Camp 6, Noxapater 5
The Panthers got a walk-off double in the eighth and took a one-run win over the Tigers in division play on Tuesday.
French Camp scored three in the third and led 4-1 after six innings before Noxapater scored three runs in the seventh to tie the game at 4-4. Noxapater scored one in the top of the eighth before French Camp scored two in the bottom of the frame to take the win.
French Camp had 11 hits in the contest, led by Ethan Wright who was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Will Taylor was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored while Benjamin Wright was 2-for-3. Noah Dew was 2-for-5 while Avery Summers singled, walked three times and scored two runs.
Carson Philyaw started on the mound and pitched five innings and gave up one run on one hit and three walks while striking out five. Eli Withers pitched two innings and gave up three runs on two hits and five walks while striking out two. Summers pitched one inning and gave up one run on two hits while striking out three.
French Camp 17, Noxapater 11
The Panthers scored in every inning and took a six run win on Thursday to sweep the series.
French Camp scored four in the first, two in second and one in the third and fourth to lead 8-0. But Noxapater scored seven in the bottom of the fourth to cut the lead to 8-7. French Camp then answered with five in the fifth, three in the sixth and one in the seventh while Noxapater scored two in the fifth and seventh.
French Camp had 15 hits in the contest, led by Avery Summers who was 5-for-6 with five runs scored. Logan Wright was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs while Ethan Wright was 2-for-4. Noah Dew was 2-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Eli Withers singled and scored twice while Carson Philyaw singled and drove in two runs. Benjamin Wright also singled and drove in two runs while Nick Long scored twice.
French Camp also had 10 stolen bases as Summers had three and Withers had two.
Ethan Wright started on the mound and pitched four innings and gave up seven runs with just one earned on two hits and four walks while striking out five. Summers pitched the last three and gave up four runs on five hits while striking out four.
